So here's a question in regards to your PvP article (great stuff, btw). Which server(s) have you found to be of decent quality?
Server quality is super subjective!
My personal ideal is medium pop servers with mostly even faction spread.
Last I checked, there aren’t many servers with an equal faction spread though. One faction is usually much more dominant than the other, but mergers probably shifted the power on a lot of servers.
Most people looking for PVP servers will go to the big ones like Tichondrius and Darkspear because there’s always tons of people to play with.
The downside is you have to deal with all the shitty people. Lots migrate to those big servers to make a name for themselves, only to realize they’re hella mediocre compared to all-star arena and RBG folks. Lotta people there have something to prove and it makes for some big attitudes and constant pissing contests. SO many trolls. Some even xfer there just to say they’re on the same server as X popular PVP streamer lol. I’m always very wary when I see players from those servers in BGs or CRZ because I’ve had so few good interactions with them. Many of them are good players, but half the time they’re not worth playing with.
So yeah, that’s why I prefer medium population servers overall. They’re not big enough to attract too much drama but still big enough to have a healthy playerbase. Those are often the best communities imo.
