"No. They don't." Neither do people. Or, more accurately, they can try to change their spots, but so very few of them ever actually try to make a change at the source. Just do it up with different paints and dyes, but it's still the same underneath. Hell, that could be the describing statement for this whole place. All of these people dressed up so pretty and playing nice, fucking rotten inside.
Even outside the capitol, people don't change easily. Even for people they're supposed to love.
Every inch of her posture screams walls up, screams not interested. Heavy brows and a long-practiced air of take-no-shit confidence. Despite that, she doesn't move away or try to shut out the older victor who's currently talking to her, as if the veneer is meant to scare off only those she's not focused on. "Not that there are really any leopards around." Outside of the arena, at least.
