I got an Ascension ask! Once the Dalish Nation is established, how will the international relations proceed? I have a feeling Rivain would be the country they get along best with (except Ferelden) considering what a chill and liberal country it is
I’m thinking that Rivain and Antiva will probably be the nations they get along best with, aside from Ferelden, yes. (Antiva because they seem to have a decent relationship with Ferelden, and since the Dales nation state will be very close to Ferelden, that will carry over. Plus, there are elf-blooded people in the Antivan royal family.)Â
But I also think the Carta will have a really good relationship with the Dales? It’s bound to be that a number of nations who are unwilling to trade with it. So the Carta buys goods that the Dales needs at a cheaper price than the Dales can buy them.
Kirkwall also has decent relations when Varric is in power, but I can’t see that lasting super long. I’m also not sure about other states in the Free Marches or Nevarra.
The Anderfels has a really good relationship, in part because the Dales probably have the most Wardens per capita. I imagine most families in the Dales have at least one kid in the Wardens.

What is your opinion on having Fiona be the Inquisition's military advisor (post-Redcliffe)? Since I don't want to put any Chantry mass murderers in charge, and I think her experience both as the leader of the rebellion and with the Grey Wardens could work great.
I can see why people like the idea of it, but honestly I’m not sure about it.Â
It’s been many years since she was in the Wardens, and she never was in charge of tactics. From what we see in The Calling, it’s mostly the senior wardens who do anything like tactics, and even they don’t really do much.Â
On the other hand, I think she has the head for tactics, she’s both passionate, but also unwilling to risk lives unnecessarily. She tends to be able to act well on the fly too, which is good.
I can absolutely see her being good at the job, if given the chance, but my question is, would anyone think to suggest her?

A lot of people find the general ambiance of (above-water) Manaan to be pleasant and serene. To me it’s *really super not.*Â
The aseptic bright white civil-engineering-by-Apple design of the city and the elevator music piano and synth soundtrack combine with the surveillance cameras and droid patrols everywhere, the strained interactions between Republic and Sith negotiators, and the polite, efficient, and totally opaque/inflexible Selkath officials to give you the sense that there’s a lot of awful stuff happening under the surface that people in Ahto City have mutually, tacitly agreed not to acknowledge
Etrik, the engineer, already has most of the books in town, would probably be delighted to receive another, and also likes polysyllabic specialist terminology for its own sake, so this would all be quite exciting. Whether that would stop him from finding and hat-dancing all over Vrona’s vocabulary peeves entirely by accident, though, is more doubtful.
