2005 has given some musicians from the 90’s the success they sort of had in that time I mentioned and they accepted this by not questioning that much. For instance,the Chemical Brothers did Push The Button and got some of their most famous work then. While many reviews called what they did a retreat from big beat, I don’t see the whole thing this way. Sure, the tune on the link feels closer to whatever house was at the time and Kele Okereke shows he’s a highly underappreciated singer, yet I believe, ha, one can notice the ethos of the genre they became famous in. While the sonic elements are different, the way they deploy them shows they never left big beat in their minds, they merely changed the surroundings and the latter’s sonics.
