John looked at his hands in disbelief as they trembled, staring at them like it was impossible to be happening, emotions that he hadn't felt in so long swirling around him.
Vaguely he heard the sound of someone shouting before someone walked into the room crouching before him.
Looking up crystal eyes caught his, surprisingly clear after everything that had happened to them. Rough hands held his own, gently soothing them, making the trembling cease with casual motions that seemed almost natural and part of him seemed to remember something similar, a distant ghost of it.
The younger Firewood pulled him to his feet and he now acted like the puppet as he obeyed mindlessly, he felt so numb but so in turmoil that he was terrified at what happened when one stopped.
He let Jack lead him to where the other wanted him which happened to be the man's bedroom.
He stood there as Jack removed his shirt and shoes, shifting uncomfortably in the silence.
An undignified squeak left his mouth as he was pulled down and Jack chuckled lightly, pulling the former puppeteer against his chest.
“I'm sorry, I'm still mad at you but you didn't deserve that after everything you've already been through.” The smooth deep voice sent another, very different tremble through him as he blushed, looking down and tracing the scars that ran along the strong tanned torso, he absently leaned closer to the warm heat that emitted from the others skin.
“Treating me like a human being.” He whispered and leaned even closer, enjoying the feeling of skin against his his own, a feeling so many took for granted.
“Thank Feather for slapping some sense into me.” A chuckle rumbled in the others chest and it made him fell more alive then he had in a long time.
“He does that.” The other just hummed, tucking John into him, cradling him close and John felt himself sleep truly soundly for the first time since he was a child.
