Fido is a non-profit skate fashion line that I created to help raise awareness and help rescue dogs victimized by puppy mills. The name comes from fido, the latin word meaning “loyal” and “faithful”. It is also a popular dog name, so the term is already closely associated with dogs. The logo was inspired by the story of the Akita Hachiko and his lifelong patience and dedication to his deceased master. The spirit of the entire project was this idea that dogs have brought so much joy and enrichment to our lives, and they deserve the same treatment in return. However, it’s impossible to chibi-ize an Akita without it also looking like a Shiba Inu, but given the Sheeb’s current prevalence online and in pop culture, I took this as a good connotation.
