Is keto diet the healthy way to lose weight?
Ketogenic diet is high in fat content but very low or negligible carbohydrate content, this is one of the well-established facts about health. Recently it has gained popularity as it is considered the fastest way to lose weight.
Keto diet is planned in such a way that body starts ketosis; it means that the body primarily searches for fats over carbohydrates. This process tends to secrete hormones that help to reduce the hunger and gradually leads to weight loss. Less consumption of carbohydrates also leads to less water retention. Studies have shown that keto diet does help in weight loss but long term health benefits are known. So is it then a part of increasing weight loss myths that have very temporary results?
This diet may not be suitable for some
As the ketosis is a transition in body mechanism where the fuel source of carb is switched to fats, the body organs like brain,kidney, liver takes time to adjust to its new fuel source. You may experience headache, disturbed sleep or loss of energy at the initial stage of ketosis.

Though Keto diet has proved effective in weight lose but its sustainability is yet to be proved.
