What is wrong with football? Where do you start? Iāll pick six, off the top of my head.
1. VAR. Completely ruined football. Decisions being made from 100ās of miles away. Makes the game stop/start with constant interruptions for totally unnecessary decisions that could easily be made by the on-field officials. OK, so theyāll get it wrong from time to time. So what? Donāt players and managers make mistakes?
2. Simulation. Contributes to the stop/start and is now being used as a tactic by coaching staff to delay the game, especially towards the end of games and very often by goalkeepers.
3. OK, the picture shows women commentating on a womenās tournament. Now show me a picture of commentators for a menās tournament that doesnāt include women. You canāt.
4. Millions taken out of the game in the pockets of average players.
5. Incompetent officials. Itās the main reason VAR came into existence. Thereās plenty of money sloshing around the game - put some of it into proper training of officials.
6. Gambling in shirt sponsorship. Should be banned - like smoking was. Children are up and down in their clubsā shirts, advertising betting companies in Asia. Itās totally unacceptable and governments should step in.
The only thing I got from Gary's stick to football episode was that him and Carra had countless nights walking home batshit drunk to their sky hotel doing random fitness exercises on the streets of London
