Why are they so shorrrrrttttt 😭😭😭😭. I need MORE Christina. 170+ pages is literally JUST a tease. I could do with at LEAST 50 more pages of the Wright brothers and these Ladies I’ve grown to love already in just a single weekend.
BLACK LOVE and BLACK EXCELLENCE. That seems to be the theme for me this weekend.
Pulling Doubles is about Devyn who is a Nurse Practitioner, interning at University Hospital in order to earn her certification. She’s assigned to work with tall, chocolate, smart, handsome and arrogant Joseph Wright who seems to be doing everything in his power to get under her skin and she just doesn’t know why. It could be he’s just an asshole, maybe he doesn’t think she deserves to be around the likes of him, or maybe its just a situation of playground teasing...pulling a girls hair because you like her. But Devyn doesn’t want to believe its the latter because we’re dealing with ADULTS here....right? lol
Christina definitely knows how to write swoon worthy and feels filled novels. I mean CMON! This is the second book I’ve read by her where I couldn’t help grinning like a buffoon while reading it. I think what I love about the Wright brothers so much in these books, is that they’re these smart and successful men...but they’ve still got a little edge and swag to them. They aren’t posh, bourgeois men with degrees that think they’re better than anyone because they have Ph’D’s or bestselling novels. They’ll still get down and dirty with you if you come at them the wrong way and oh my God, is there anything sexier than the words “Do you think somebody is fucking playing with you?” coming out of the mouth of a Dark Chocolate man in a lab coat while he chokes up a misogynist pig who just blatantly disrespected and threatened a women. I’ll answer for you. NO!
There seems to be a pattern here with these men though. They come across these amazing, beautiful Black Queens and then start acting out like they don’t have any damn home training. They are 2 and 0 right now when it comes to being an ADULT about expressing their attraction for these ladies and its just like, ya’ll are GROWN! Stop portraying the adult version of a little boy pushing the girl he likes down in the playground. Get it together! But man is it still FUN as hell to watch. Banter and wit are one of my favorite things and Christina delivers that in spades in these books.
I seriously...SERIOUSLY just wish they were longer...or that there were at least more than two of these books at my disposal. Granted, she has plenty other novels to choose from, but in the short time that I’ve been reading these books, I’ve already grown to love the Wright brothers and the Ladies that they love. I’ve grown attached to seeing the respect, loyalty and love they all have for one another as well as the strong image of family that is depicted. I need more!!! I already know the next book is going to be about the final Wright brother, Justin who is a bestselling author and the relationship he has...or lack thereof, with his ex-bestfriend Toni. I don’t even care what’s going to happen or how things will play out because I already know it’s going to be excellent and I just want it now!

Recommendation: I would absolutely read this book, not only is it super short (173 pages) allowing you to read it in a sitting, but its authentic, fun, punches you right in the feels and will have your lady parts all aflutter lol.
