Randomly decided to go to an all female art and music showcase tonight. I didn't know any of the artists or bands and didn't know anyone who was going, but decided to go and get out of my comfort zone and I'm so happy I did. I met a bunch of amazing people, saw some beautiful art and listened to 4 excellent bands. The love was tangible in the room and I am just so glad I wasn't anywhere else ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Public Functionary | Minneapolis, US In Minneapolis modern art culture is very popular and is home to many institutions that influence modernism. For instance, Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) and Walker Art Center are two nationally recognized organizations that promote modern art within this vibrant city. Local art shows are also popularized every weekend to drive conceptual collaborations, and inspire those with a modern flare. One of my favorite local venues is Public Functionary, a space where artists share their work with popular media outlets, strangers, acquaintances, friends, and family. It’s not exactly like a museum where security guards monitor the safety of each art piece, and you can hear a pin drop due to the absolute silence. Whenever there is an art opening the venue may also present some spoken word, interpretive dance performances, local DJs who spin fun dance tunes, and pop-up retail. If you want to have a deeper understanding for the art scene in Minneapolis don’t skip out on this opportunity, and visit this venue while in town. 1400 12th Ave NE, Minneapolis Check out my previous blog post about Martin Patrick 3.
