ptsdven replied to your post “The only thing about Kisuke adopting All the Kids, is that it means...”
concept: *all* of the kids deciding to hide under kisukes haori at the same time during a storm or after a particularly ominous horror movie
(they dont fit super well but its the attempt that counts) Â Â Â Â Â
It starts because Karin is having a bad day. It’s just... one of those days, you know? Everything seems to be going wrong, everything’s just a little too much, and then a storm catches them on their way to the shoten and just... she’s done? And Ichigo is too, even if he’s pretending better than her.
Uryuu’s the one that drags them all into the common room and pushes them to the couch. Tessai brings towels and warm drinks and changes of clothing, and Uryuu just... vanishes for a bit.
By the time they’re done changing and are all curled up in a pile on the couch, Uryuu’s crept back in, clutching something in his arms. He crawls onto the couch with them and tosses what turns out to be Urahara’s haori over all four of them. It doesn’t really cover them very well, and they need to be basically sitting on top of each other--
(Karin curls up on Ichigo’s lap, and Yuzu on Uryuu’s, and Uryuu leans hesitantly into Ichigo’s side until he starts to relax at last)
--but it feels nice and safe and comforting and at this point Karin will accept damn near anything.
(Kisuke finds them like that, curled up in a pile together and all asleep, his haori clutched in small hands and pulled tight around their bodies.
He can’t help but lean on the back of the couch and smile down at them like a sap.
He doesn’t think he’ll ever get used to this, but that’s okay. He’s begun to enjoy it.)
