yes! they have every intention of still getting married and having babies. idk about six -- he'll hit three and be like 'yikes this is actually a lot'. but i think in that universe he's not always like he is in the fic, this is just a product of not taking his night meds for maybe a month or two -- just sort of etching away at him until he becomes too withdrawn and inside himself to realize he'd being a jerk -- or being a jerk just makes him feel better.
he would never raise a hand to r -- i just don't think that's his character in general like, in canon. i don't think he'd ever hit a woman -- and when he had been violent with r it has always been a reactionary thing while in a flashback -- never because he wants to hurt her. he feels incredibly guilty every time. however, i think eddie IS valid in asking those questions as well because he has his home life trauma on top of the upside-down. it's just cautionary for him to want to make sure r isn't in the same boat as his mom.
it's also worth it to note that no one drinks alcohol in the fic -- everyone except erica and nancy had a very slippery slope with liquor, so they all vowed to stop drinking when it seemed like everyone was becoming a little dependent -- each group hang would become like -- a alcoholism fest and then everyone was basically like 'oh this is bad.'
