Pterospondylus trieblae
Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pterospondylus
Name: Pterospondylus trieblae
Name Meaning: Winged Vertebrae
First Described: 1913
Described By: Jaekel
Classification: Dinosauria, Saurischia, Eusaurischia, Theropoda, Neotheropoda, Coelophysoidea, Coelophysidae
This dinosaur is a dubious genus originating from the Trossingen Formation in Germany. It lived 210 million years ago, in the Norian Stage of the Late Triassic. It is a dubious genus because it's only known from a few vertebrae, as its name suggests. However, scientists think it was a Coelophysid, one about twice the size of Procompsognathus. However, some scientists seem to think that it's another, larger species of Procompsognathus! Though this can't be confirmed until more fossils are found, if it is another Coelophysid, it would have been another fast, lightly built meat eater.
