FNF covers: A popular genre of videos in the FNF fandom where people make covers of songs from base game FNF or FNF mods that feature other FNF mod characters. Psychic and Void were semi-popular picks for cover makers around 2022 due to their recency.

FNF BETADCIUs: A subgenre of FNF cover videos where, as the name suggests, a different character is used to cover the song every turn. Psychic and Void, aside from being semi-popular picks in 2022, were often seen paired together, most likely due to their similar complexions.

Both Psychic and Void are purple: They're both purple.

The FNF mods ‘renaissance’: There was a period of time after base game Week 7's release that people called ‘the FNF renaissance’ where new, good quality OC mods were gaining traction and some classic mods were being revived. Mind Games and Vs Void are two examples from that era, which contributed to them being noticed by the community.

Lightning Reed Purple Guys covers: Lightning Reed is a FNF cover maker from late 2021 who seems to be a fan of Vs Void. They have made 6 covers featuring only Psychic and Void, and 2 more covers which include both Psychic and Void among other characters. They also seem to be the first person to call the duo ‘Purple Guys’.

Official confirmation: Riveren, the creator of Psychic, made a Twitter post implying that both them and Starbreak, the creator of Void, agreed to make Psychic and Void's friendship official on March 11th 2022.

Psychic has ONE confirmed friend: And it's Void, if no other mod creators had come forward with another confirmation and nothing about Psychic's story had changed after Riveren claimed Psychic is ‘friendless’.

‘Nice cosplay of me dude!’: A comment made by chatter NRG_Cat on Starbreak's YouTube livestream on November 6th 2021 that describes their interpretation of how Void would interact with Psychic after Starbreak had answered a question about Void's possible opinion on Psychic with ‘[Void] might appreciate Psychic trying to emulate his look. He'd probably just think it's funny. I'm not sure how much common ground they have other than that, honestly’. This is the only known close-to-canon information of the relationship dynamic between Psychic and Void to date.

Psyvoid: The ship name of Psychic x Void. It actually kind of caught on as a crack ship for some time in late 2021 to early 2022.

Fourth cousins (thrice removed): The name of a Purple Guys crack fic written by lightgriffinsect and posted on January 5th 2023. The fanfic riffs on the semi-popular joke that Psychic and Void might be biologically related to each other due to them both having purple as their main color and both wearing blue suit jackets. In the fic, the two bond over tricking BF and GF into thinking they are actually relatives.

Hates BF solidarity: The only known common ground between Psychic and Void aside from their appearances is their shared hatred and begrudging alliances with Boyfriend from base game FNF. This has been non-officially believed to be a main factor of their friendship.

‘It'd be funny’: Due to their lack of overlapping interests, it has been a widely adapted fanon lore on tumblr that Psychic and Void first became friends because it would be funny, and also due to a less-spoken-of mutual intrigue in each other's very different lives and outlooks. It is better described in this drabble written by lightgriffinsect, but the first mention of this is probably by y010isaghost.

Psychic punches Void in the face hypothetical: A discussion between lightgriffinsect and y010isaghost on February 23rd 2023 about what would happen if Psychic were to finally give in to his desire to punch Void in the face. Full post can be found here.

Purple Guys DLC: A trio consisting of Psychic, Void and Hood from Vs Hood: Roundtable proposed by thatonetwig on April 30th 2024. The name was decided a few days later. Other names considered were Purple Guys Trio, Purple Guys: The Expansion Pack, and Triple Purple.

Purpleswap AU: A classic swap AU made by lightgriffinsect where Psychic and Void swap places in life — Psychic is a singer, and Void is a servant to the Dearests, but they both keep their canon personalities.

binary stars: The name of a poem written by lightgriffinsect uploaded on April 28th 2025 about the many aspects of Psychic and Void's relationship. It discusses how they're foils to each other, despite not having any established canon interactions. It touches upon their similar but different upbringings, their different outlooks on life, their desire for connections, their shared intrigue for each other, and how they see themselves in each other despite and because of their mental barriers. bad meme: The title of a drawing of Void venting to Psychic over the phone made by lightgriffinsect on May 13th 2025 based on a scenario where Void sends Psychic a bad meme at 4 a.m., which lets the latter know the former has just come out of A.C. mode. Said scenario is an exploration of the two's emotional stuntedness, wherein lies an unspoken, detached understanding between each other that goes unexplored, to both parties' relief.

Silent Harmony: The friendship name between Psychic and the Accretions, based on their common loyalty to their respective superiors and the potential quiet understanding between the three. Name coined by lightgriffinsect.

Void's awful friend-picking track record: Void has a few instances of being friends with other mod characters who have a grudge against Daddy Dearest while also being friends with Psychic, whose master is Daddy Dearest. For example, Void is canonically friends with Yukichi, whose planet was planned to be colonized by Daddy Dearest according to the plot of Cosmo Calamity. Void is also canonically friends with Psychic.

Waiter Guys DLC: An AU made by lightgriffinsect where Psychic, Hood and Void are all waiters at Daddy Dearest's restaurant. The lore is surprisingly similar to Purpleswap's.

Bound!AT: An AT made by lightgriffinsect where Psychic's and Void's thoughts and emotions are linked together against their wills. This AT is mostly for exploring a dynamic between them where their mental walls are forcefully removed from each other.

Void preferring Psychic over Space Trio: There was a very offhanded discussion on lightgriffinsect's discord server about how Psychic enables Void's worse tendencies more than the Space Trio, which could make Void prefer Psychic's company more since he feels more understood by him.

Abstract Stars: The ship name of Hood x Void, mostly spearheaded by thatonetwig.

Psychic the thirdwheeler: In a hypothetical scenario where Void is dating someone, Psychic would be third wheeling DD and MM, BF and GF, AND Void and whoever he decides to date.

Polypurple: The ship name of Psychic x Hood x Void, mostly spearheaded by thatonetwig.

Canon Psychic Bound!AT: An AT of an AT where instead of FNF Psychic, it would be Canon Psychic who has a mental link with Void. The dynamic would play out differently due to Canon Psychic's very different mental state from FNF Psychic.

Purple Guys DLC+: Purple Guys DLC but Epsilon from Vs Hood: Roundtable is also there. To directly quote lightgriffinsect, ‘purple guys dlc is kinda funny because hood isn’t actually purple, he just wears purple. but you know who in roundtable IS purple and closer to v and psi on the moral scale?’. Given Hood and Epsilon's relationship in Roundtable, things could go various ways depending on whose side Psychic and Void choose.

Cherish!Psychic: An AT where the entity who replaces Void in the Faker Trilogy made by y010isaghost replaces Psychic instead, and is named Cherish!Psychic. He doesn't last long, but it is said that he would hate Void so much that he would break up with him on Psychic's behalf.
