Pink Floyd - Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, EMI 1967. This my favorite era of Floyd. Really the only era for me. I lose interest after 1969. As youth I was fascinated by all the colorful imagery, the "different-ness" of counterculture, music, films and art of that time. The Doors: LA Woman (180 gram, limited edition white vinyl, Rhino Records, 2015) ▪︎ ▪︎ I wanna tell you 'bout Texas Radio and the Big Beat ▪︎ This is hands down my favourite Doors album. Jim Morrison is at his rawest and most potent on their sixth studio album. ▪︎ Freed from producer Paul Rothchild, the band's creativity just exploded in a supernova of sound. ▪︎ LA Woman was released in April 1971, just over two months before Morrison's death. I sometimes wonder had The Doors' lead singer lived, how he would have followed LA Woman up. ▪︎ Even if celestial forces could answer my question, it's better not knowing.
