“you know, you could at least try and look like you’re not being subjected to torture whenever we spend time together.” picking at the chip in her nail polish, hazel glanced up for the briefest of moments to shoot them with a look. she really wasn’t quite as good at playing it cool as they seemed to be; perhaps that’s because her ‘dislike’ for them was all feigned. “like, really. am i that bad?”

“what? i can’t just treat you for the day? why do i have to have some sort of alternative motive?” the batting of her eyelashes shouldn’t fool them. addie almost always had a motive for her actions and this time was no different. however, she figured if they gained a meal and a day out free of charge that could be a win for them.

the question startles him; oceanic eyes widening, turning in hase to look back at her. robin hadn't expected her to want them to go back to being a them again. had attempted to force his feelings back for the sake of her comfort. yet here she is, asking everything he'd figured he'd be too delusional to think she even wanted anymore. he's blinking to start, and he's almost tempted to ask her to pinch him to check he's not dreaming. "i---" his heart is frantic, his mind pleading with him to answer, "i don't see why not. if that's what you wanted. if it's what we both wanted…"

it's with casual indifference that he stands up straight, turning to face her once he'd finished inspecting the body that lay strewn behind him. he'd seen far too many bodies in his time, totally desensitized to the sight. "---what are you here for, val?" he finds himself asking, shifting towards the kitchen to locate two glasses and place them firmly on the countertop. "drink?" the question falls, figuring that whatever is about to transpire might be easier to deal with, with a drink in their systems.

          there’s  a  question,  hesitant  and  teasing,  at  the  tip  of  her  tongue;  it’s  been  there  since  the  evening  started  and  remained  there  until  this  moment,  both  of  them  overlooking  the  city  skyline  from  the  bar  of  his  penthouse,  the  gorgeous  view.  she’s  sure  her  parents  are  looking  for  her  by  now  but  it’s  a  thought  easily  discarded,  especially  when  she’s  surrounded  by  his  company.  the  hand  around  her  glass  of  wine  tightens,  the  other  balling  into  fist  at  her  sides  before  mia  turns  to  him  with  a  sheepish,  shy  smile.  “so  how  many  people  have  you  brought  up  here  before  ?”  she  applauds  herself  internally  for  sticking  the  landing  on  the  half-jest,  tearing  her  gaze  to  admire  the  city  lights  once  more.  “it’s  beautiful  here.” // 🍓 ଘ(੭◌ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ♡‧₊ @prvsoner !
