Meet: @soulstars27 I still remember the day I got on the scale and there was the number 300 looking up at me. I was devastated. I was a mom with a young son and I could barely keep up with him and he couldn’t even walk yet. I knew something had to change or I was going to miss out on his entire life. A friend of mine had been doing the keto diet and was successfully losing weight, so I did a ton of research and started that same day. I was amazed at how not only was I losing weight and quickly but I was starting to feel alive! I had more energy, I wasn’t needing to take that afternoon nap with my son I had been taking since he was born and I actually was motivated to workout. This has been the first ‘diet’ in my life I’ve ever been able to stick with, I found it easy to follow and I felt satisfied which I had never experienced doing any other diet. I lost 143lbs in less than a year and I’ve kept it off for 10 months and counting! I use social media as a tool to share my experience with others, hopefully inspiring others to make that change in their lives too and that it’s not impossible! If my posts help even just one person that’s what fills my cup. Starting tip: Absolutely just jump right in, don’t wait until the next Monday to start, set the intention of change and stick to it. For me not being on the “safe” path in life has been the most exhilarating thing that I’ve done. My journey from growing up in New Jersey, to playing professional baseball all over the country, to now has been amazing and I wouldn’t change a thing. When people doubt you, just say thank you and smile. When people laugh about your goals because they’re “too big”, put your head down and work. My whole life has been doubted from the time that I was younger to now. Being a kid from Newark, NJ raised by a single mother, on paper I wasn’t supposed go to college, get drafted, trade in my baseball career to achieve something way bigger than the game of baseball had to offer, and the list goes on. Don’t fit into the “regular safe life”. Be whatever it is that you want to be. Find your PASSION. DREAM of the life that you want to live. WORK until you have it. Be the BEST version of yourself that you can be. Embrace the haters.
