Proximamon!
Proximamon RB1-036 Alternative Art
Proximamon RB1-036
A fusion involving Hiro, Gulus and Gammamon would be potentially fascinating to observe. From the outside, the behavior of the fusion changes rather than any one if the three directly speaking; Gammamon makes the fusion more friendly and inquisitive, Gulus projects an aura of confident menace, and Hiro causes the fusion to act more mature and philosophical, with it appearing more like a change in mood rather than a whole different personality based on whoever is active. Inside, anyone who isn't helping to "pilot" can more directly talk to anyone else who is not active, which is how Hiro is suppressed by Gammamon who distracts him by asking for lessons or stories or games. Hiro starts to get suspicious and lulls Gammamon to sleep, and moves to investigate their situation, which looks to outsiders like the fusion just acting slightly more calm and asking rhetorical questions to represent Hiro and Gulus disagreeing on how to proceed
I imagine if it was a fusion of the three and if the idea still carried some of Frontier's design Philosophy, the fusion would be like, Proximamon meets Agnimon, though I put the blue bandana wings back because I feel it is important to the design (at least to me it is...) and the rest of the cast would be left wondering if that is a fusion like they are or just a Digimon acting as the arena's muscle. I mentioned comparing it to Ratchet and Clank Deadlocked, The Hiro-Gammax2 permafusion would be like the Ace Hardlight character who seemingly works for the arena. Because the first act is more of a tournament fighter loaded with characters to meet, but only so many become part of the 'main cast', when they escape at the end of the first arc they end up leaving a lot of the friends they made behind in the arena and at least 1 'main cast member' gets left behind for betrayal drama reasons. Optionally Team Hiro could either be broken of the permafusion and in an attempt to escape Gulus is left behind, allowing Hiro and Gammamon to join the Main cast as a sixth ranger while also disempowering them of their Proximamon form having lost Gulus, OR alternatively the Proximamon permafusion is sent by the arena owners to retrieve the escapees and hunt them down, eventually leading to the unfusing. I dunno which sounds cooler while also not just making i the Hiro show. Because I am bias.
I wish I was living for it. I love stories about being forced into gladiatory arena combat against ones will but it's unfortunately in the category of "Things I like and would consume like it's bacon bits but don't think I could properly execute personally" :<
As much as I like the "Destiny giving you a partner digimon" something I liked about Digimon Tamers and Ghost Game was that to an extent everyone chose their partners, and that made their bond feel like a different kind of strong than soulmate partners. Not that I like one more than the other in reference to digimon but the idea of one of the arena's employed kidnappers seeing that they could be something more and attempting to woo their way into it sounds so much fun, like how Piedmon in Survive could manipulate, mansplain, or manwhore his way to get what he wanted.
Then there's also the potential recurring threat that because they are not soulmate type partners but chosen personally partners, there's always that risk any of the kids or digimon run of their partner choosing to abandon them and find a newer better partner they have a better chance to survive the arena's trials with (And some having to learn that their chosen bond is a much stronger friendship than it is just a survival choice!)

This is confounding me: how big do you think Proximamon is, relative to Hiro? I was thinking he's roughly the size of Siriusmon and Arcturusmon sharing a centaur costume, but the artwork makes him appear very... grand? Like he could hold Hiro in the palm of his hand?
My sense of digimon height is kinda spoiled by having played far too much digimon world games where the mon have to be "reasonable" in size for the hardware to handle, but I am a huge fan of
Kaiju levels of size. A bit of a shame because all the Ghost Game megas have kinda a Wargreymon size feel to them all without one being a huuuuuuge kaiju.
I think at smallest Proximamon's size would be like... if Hiro stood on his shoulder he would reach the top of Proximamon's head. For head petting reasons. BUT for how insanely crazy powerful Proximamon is supposed to be, destroying and rebuilding the world and all, the idea that all three Ghost Game kids and their digimon could all simultaneously comfortably sit in his hand would be appropriate. Like the Gammamon in him being too afraid to move because he might step on someone levels of big!
So good news, the last of Gammamon’s forms have arrived which means @bogleech can now start his set of Digimon reviews.
