protosystemic oppression
protosystemic oppression: original condition or first site of interpersonal internalized dominion, abuse, or injustice occurring within the scope of familial or close knit social groups during socialization.
this phenomena normalizes oppressive conditions that are later reinforced systemically by institutions to the extent that they make the individual unable to recognize instances of injustice around them later in life.
ie. slut shaming by parents, degradation of darker skinned sibling, undermining of maternal authority by father in front of children,
The oppressive situation occurs in the home, on the playground, or other informal social arrangement producing the effects of internalized oppression in an individual from a proxy source.
