A few weeks ago I wrote an article entitled, “Where did all the good supplements go?”. It was about trying to understand why haven’t any new supplements entered the market over the past few years. The last good sports nutrition product to come out was maybe LJ100, a testosterone product. This article is going to be a continuation of my last topic and will be about putting together a supplement that actually works. Finding the best ingredients on the face of the earth and making a product out of it, regardless of cost. Because how can you put a price on 5lbs of pure muscle. Bodybuilding magazine $5.00, Overly hyped Nitric oxide product $40.00, 5lbs of muscle, priceless..(sorry couldn’t help it!!!). But anyway I am always searching for new products that manufacturers are making. I am also finding ways to MAKE new products. Like my new Vitellogen Whey I just released. But there are some really, really good products, that ARE available that you just cant find in the sports nutrition sector of natural products. The reason why you cant find these products are for one reason and one reason only PRICE!!. Here’s why? Let’s take waxy maize for example. It’s a scam. Get that through your head first of all. I have tons of proof it’s a scam on my message board and if you don’t believe me ask any REAL supplement expert, not some message board wanna-be. But waxy maize is nothing more than corn starch. Its literally costs about 20 cents per pound. I googled waxy maize supplement and here are the results. Average price is about $25.00 for 4 or 5lbs. So now do the math. Twenty cents X 4 = $1.00. Plus the cost of manufacturing, so add another $3.00 or $4.00 and you get $5.00 total cost. That’s a 400% mark-up. Now you can see why waxy maize is so popular. (to the supplement company’s that is). Now take a product that actually works and has some scientific research behind it, GPLC, otherwise known as Glyco-Carn. http://www.glycocarn.com/. I sell the product for $65.00 for a measly 150 grams. And Im lucky if I make 10% on this product. Its that expensive. Now try to find a nitric oxide product that actually uses the clinically researched dose of 4 grams per serving. Good Luck!!. You might find one or two products. As you can see MONEY is all supplement company’s care about. And that my friend is why there aren’t any good supplements on the market. Well now lets try to put an end to that. Summer is the time when you should be trying to keep your body fat down. This means eating low GI carbs, fruits and veggies, and lots of slow releasing proteins like Milk Isolate, Micellar Casein, or Aussie Caseinate. Why? Because I think it is more important to be anti-catabolic during this time. Anti-catabolic means keeping your body out of a muscle wasting state. The trick is to keep a supply of amino acids in the blood stream as long as possible.
