can I request something where jack and his girlfriend (the reader) are at an event and someone starts harassing the reader and jack gets all protective
yes, thanks for ur request and i hope you like it!
i am not sure if i should issue u out a warning for this given that it isn't graphic, but if these themes make u uncomfortable, i would recommend skipping over this one
warnings: mild violence, derogatory language (like once or twice), and harassment
"You look really handsome tonight, Jack." you murmured, playing with his curls a little as the two of you sat in the parking lot of the venue.
"Don't get me started on you, baby." he smiled, leaving a sweet kiss on your nose.
The two of you were dressed up for a formal dinner that the label put together. Even though Jack was a little hesitant, you encouraged him to go in hopes that he could do some good networking. He agreed so long as you came along, which led to you being in a beautiful black gown that was laced at the top and had a long skirt, matching Jack's black velvet tuxedo.
"Okay, let's do this." Jack quickly got out of the car to beat you in the process of opening your own door.
He smiled down at you and offered his arm to you. You interlocked your arm in his and kissed his cheek. He blushed slightly and you smiled to yourself as you approached the door.
"What do you think they have to eat?" he asked you, showing his ID to double check with the guest list.
"They're rich people, so probably caviar and stuff."
Jack laughed and moved you into the party where it seemed food wasn't the point of the event at all. Many people gathered around tables and bars with drinks in hand and others mingled on the dance floor near the DJ.
"Is this is a rager?" he asked you, untangling your arms and you shrugged. "Here, I'll find you somewhere to sit and see who I can chat with, okay?"
"Sure." you smiled, but you felt a slight pang in your chest when Jack was already planning on walking away.
Large crowds made you nervous, especially ones where you didn't know anybody. You could easily hold your own, you got used to it after years of being popular adjacent, but that didn't mean you wanted to be dropped off so quickly.
"Is this good?" he asked, finding a table that was right in the pocket of the crowd.
"Great. I'm gonna go holler at Drake." he pulled out your chair and kissed your lips. "I love you, thank you for bringing me out tonight."
"Course. I love you, too."
With that, Jack left and immediately got swept up in the crowd. His interactions with people were always so genuine and he had such a spark that made people love him- it was one of the reasons you loved him. Jack seemed to underestimate that, though, he probably expected to speak to Drake and come back, but you knew he could work his way through Drake's group and meet a guy who knew a guy and forget all about you. Not that you particularly minded though, you were fine with scrolling on your phone and tagging along as support.
That was, until creeps like the one in front of you saw a pretty girl "unattended" for too long and took it as an opportunity to prowl.
"Hey, beautiful." he said, and he was obviously older and was used to picking up girls just by telling them he had access to exclusive events like this.
Situations like this were hard to play- a seemingly innocent flirt could be turned into something much worse with any rejection. You smiled dismissively and looked at Jack who was sitting on the balcony with his back to you. Even if he turned around, it'd be hard to see you through the crowd.
"Excuse me, I'm talking to you." the older guy said, tugging at his blazer for attention.
"Right, I'm sorry. It's just that I'm here with someone. My boyfriend." you spoke firmly and sure of yourself, clasping your perfectly manicured hands together.
"He doesn't have to know about what we do tonight."
You sighed and bit your tongue to suppress the attitude you wanted to take up. It was a formal event and there's no telling who this guy knew that he could tell Jack Harlow's girlfriend is a bitch and get Jack blacklisted.
"As flattering as this is, I'm not interested."
"How come?" he pressed, leaning over the table and causing you to strain back against your chair.
"I'm in a committed relationship and I don't do things like this otherwise. I would really appreciate it if you'd leave me alone." you said, becoming a little more nervous.
The few people around you didn't care much about the scene of maybe they didn't see, but it felt like there was so much and so little happening at the same time.
"You don't know what you're missing out on." he shook his head and walked off, leaving you to breathe a sigh of relief.
With the need to be cool off, you walked to the front of the building. It was pretty vacant besides a few stragglers since the evening was in full swing and perfect for fanning your face.
As you were getting comfortable with going back in, the smell of cheap cologne filled your nostrils and forced you to look up. Fear took hold when you saw the same man and realized how dumb it was to stray so shortly after.
"I didn't mean to offend you." you said, already trying to sneak to the door as he stalked closer. He smiled viciously and you tried to make a run for it, but the heels on your feet became your worst enemy and allowed the man to grab your wrist.
"You didn't offend me, sweetheart. A little bitch like you turning me down isn't a bruise to my ego. You obviously don't know who I am."
You whimpered as his hands gripped around your wrists tight enough to bruise. Your voice was useless when he only laughed at how you struggled. He wanted to see you squirm and you were inadvertently giving him that satisfaction.
"I think you're going to come to my hotel room tonight so I can tell you, right?" he got closer and your sobs racked your body as you shook your head aggressively. "I think you are because-"
"What the fuck?!" you heard, and never in your life had you been so relieved to hear Jack's voice, and never had you heard it hold so much aggression.
The man turned his head and was immediately met with Jack's fist before Jack grabbed his collar. You were in such a state of shock you barely realized what was happening until Jack looked at you.
"Move, baby." his tone was more powerful than his command, so you moved swiftly out of the way just in time for Jack to throw the man against the wall with a grunt. "You think it's cool to touch up on women, huh? To hold them against the wall and make 'em cry? Does that make you feel like a man?"
"She wanted to come back to my hotel. You don't know what you saw."
"Jack, no, I wasn't." you said quickly, tears welling up again at the man's audacity to lie so blatantly. Jack, though, didn't believe it for a second and got even closer to him.
"I could fucking kill you right now." Jack gritted his teeth and you took a step back. You were starting to rethink all the times you thought you had seen him angry. "But I won't because my girl is standing there and she's seen enough for tonight. When I tell you that's the only thing stopping me, you don't know the half of it. If I catch your punk ass ever again, it's over. Over."
With one more shove, Jack let go of his collar and gave him another punch for good measure that made him fold to the ground and walked over to you.
"I'm sorry." you said, when his arms wrapped around you.
"Don't apologize. There's nothing to apologize for. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have left you like that, baby."
With consideration to where you were, Jack started walking you to the car and kept his hands around you. Although you were no longer crying, Jack stood you up against the passenger side and bent slightly to wipe your tears.
"I love you so much and you didn't deserve that. It's over now, though, and I'll do my damn best to make sure some shit like that never happens again. Swear to you, princess."
"I love you, too. And I know you will."
Jack took a deep breath and hugged you, kissing the top of your head repeatedly until he decided that was enough standing. "I'll get you home, clean you up, find something for these bruises, and we'll call it night. How about that?"
"Perfect." you said through another round of tears.
Not because of your shock, but because Jack loved you. He kept you safe and made a promise that you knew he wouldn't break.
