The problem with Prop 29 is that if it passes, the clinics might close because the corporations that own it have one main goal: profit. If they need to hire more doctors to stay on site, that cuts into their profits. So they need to either increase the clinic costs (charge insurance/patients more) or close clinics.
Doctors should be on site, I think. It would be safer.

Reading most reactions on Prop 29 not passing makes me sad. Seriously, people are happy it didn't pass because they don't want to pay an extra dollar to buy tobacco, mostly cigarettes of course. The "NO on Prop. 29" campaign was about a 50 million dollar campaign funded by two major tobacco companies!Β
So people who voted no on the proposition, mainly because they don't want to pay that extra dollar. Smoke away. Tobacco companies just made the right investment and will get that 50 million back in no time.

waiting for voting results is always so nerve-wracking but kind of fun. i voted yes so i hope it passes. especially because all the ads against it from the tobacco companies have been driving me nuts.
