So I was talking with @catholicjigglypuff about how all the photos Prom took with Aranea during the events of Episode Prompto now had a more sinsiter tone to them because… what if it really was Ardyn?
Jigglypuff said Imagine Prompto’s horror if he pulls those photos out again one day in the future to look back upon those memories of his time with Aranea, only to find Ardyn’s face staring back at him instead?
The sadness!
I thought that was bad enough. And then I got to thinking. Remember before the Disc of Cauthess, where they meet Ardyn at the outlook? And later that evening, Prompto is going through his photos outside the caravan when he comes across that one of Ardyn, the one that everyone gets, standing before the Disc all smiling. And he says ‘I don’t remember taking this…’ And Ardyn says ‘Oh, snap away, for his Highness’s personal collection.’
But he doesn’t remember taking it. What if he thought he was taking a picture of Noctis instead? What if Ardyn’s been shapeshifting more than we think?
