Okay, so maybe this is kind of late to publicise on Tumblr (though as it stands several people are already aware of this meet anyway), but...

I'm organising what is effectively a temporary merger between two Sherlock meets this weekend - PromHolmes and Unlucky Sherlock.

25th August, in London. Meeting midday at Speedy's Cafe/North Gower Street, then moving onto the pavillion in Regent's Park and a few other places. Everyone is welcome! Please bring food if you're coming, because we're gonig to be having a picnic when we get to the aforementioned location in Regent's Park.

Cosplay (especially formalised cosplay) is encouraged, but honestly wear what you want, I don't mind.

If you want to RVSP, please do so on this post or in my inbox, but it's not necessary to do so in order to attend (just polite, I guess).

Unless it so happens that people have forgotten to tell me that they're coming or have assumed that I will assume they're coming, the numbers are looking to be even lower than the last one, if anyone shows up at all. You might have already gathered that if you've been reading my readmores in the past. But for the sake of anyone on here who might not have told me they're coming and isn't on the FB group, I'm gonna put this up because there's going to be a bit of an overhaul.

Basically the reservation is out the window, so it's no longer desperate that you tell me you're coming - literally even 'maybe' is fine since the only reason fo me to know numbers is to know that I actually have numbers (although it would be nice if you did give me some sort of indication of any possibility of attending anyway if you can. And please don't be put off at least displaying a tentative plan to attend by numbers if that's basically your only issue with attending, because if everyone takes that approach then... Well, it won't exactly help raise the numbers if people won't raise the numbers because of the numbers, will it?) Also formal cosplay too, for me at least (feel free to go with whatever for yourself if you really want) because I'm almost bracing myself for basically having a random unintentional day out in Brighton on my own and whilst Sherlock attire isn't exactly that out of the ordinary for the sake of my suit I'm not going to bring it out unless I'm sure there's going to be enough people to call this a meet.

I know this might be taking a huge chunk out of the concept of these meets, but the restaurant thing can still happen if people don't mind it being a bit more spontaneous, and just because I'm not going with cosplay unless confirmed numbers pick up doesn't mean anyone else has to if they still want to cosplay. And this is only for this meet because of the numbers, and (hopefully) not a thing that will happen at future meets (yeah I'm not going to give up on this yet, haha).

Anything else? Well... It'll be making a return in the Summer, possibly in Crawley or Guildford (basically somewhere further North where it's easier for people to get to). But before then, I might be bringing it to May MCM. People/person has suggested organising a meet in one of the evenings on one of the con days, so that might be a thing. Although how likely that is to happen will depend on whether I can get in on a hotel share or otherwise find someone in/near London who's willing to house me for the duration of the convention, since the hotel share I was going to jump in on has fallen apart.

So back in December the first of what is hopefully many meets for formalised Sherlockian cosplay in Brighton, and whilst things didn't necessarily to plan last time it was fun and worth organising, so I'm bringing it back.

For those of you not aware of what PromHolmes is, it's a series of meets in the South East of England (possibly to be extending out of Brighton/Sussex sometime during the Summer). The idea is that Sherlockians can meet up and show off formalised versions of cosplays for various Sherlock characters; see the local sights (and invariably partake in the ensuing Sherlockian shenanigans); and of course discuss Sherlock Holmes over a restaurant meal.

As you might have already guessed the recommended attire is (formal) Sherlockian cosplay, although that is by no means necessary. And all Sherlockians are welcome!

This time round we're going to be meeting on 7th April, and I'm hoping to build off the first and make this even more enjoyable than the last one! We'll be meeting at Brighton Station for midday, and then wander around the city so that people can shop and explore, before heading over to the restaurant sometime around 2pm. Then there'll be more 'shenanigans' and sightseeing afterwards, with the time we have left afterwards for those able to hang around. Hope to see some of you there!

So now that your interest has been piqued by my ridiculously long rambling, you might be wondering how to find out more. Well, there are two main places where you should be going. There's a FB group (which makes it much easier to make sure that people actually get my updates on meet details and future meets) and you can also check out the PromHolmes tag where you can find a lot of stuff about these meets. And if you have any unanswered questions after that, ask away!

Now, it's very important that if you intend to attend, you express your interest very clearly because I will be making a reservation at the restaurant a week or two before the meet, and I need to know the numbers. If you want to attend please drop me a message (I'll send you one back to confirm that I got it if you do things that way), reblog with your own comment indicating your desire to attend or join the Facebook group and the corresponding event. Or a combination of the above, even.

So, I couldn't really go on waiting indefinitely for certain people to confirm, now that it's a week past the intended deadline for confirmations. Which means unfortunately I've had to finalise the numbers as they are, so that I can make the reservation. It's for 12 people (including myself) at 2pm on the day, so if this goes to plan please make sure you turn up if you were planning to, and try not to be more than 2 hours late (although I'd be slightly bemused if you were that late).

So I really need to get numbers confirmed properly so I can make a reservation by the end of this week. And for that, I need to check which of you who've displayed an interest are actually still planning to come. Hopefully you've at least been keeping up to date with the PromHolmes tag, even if you haven't joined the Facebook group I set up, but anyway...

Here's how this is going to work. I'm going to list all the people/urls who as far as I'm aware either are going or appear to have displayed interest but need to confirm. If you're tagged in this post, it probably means you're one of the people I need to confirm, or you've liked one of the original posts and although you haven't been put on the list because a post like on its own is not a clear indication of desire to attend in my mind I've tagged you anyway to increase the chances of you seeing this post incase you do actually plan on attending, in which case it'd be appreciated if you let me know in a more clear manner.Or you've reblogged one of my informational posts but not the main post, and left me slightly confused. Quite simply if you're attending you need to let me know (if  you haven't already confirmed by doing something like joining the Facebook group or being pestered by me since the original post(s) for confirmation), if you're not attending but you've displayed an interest previously and I don't know you're not attending I need to know, and if you're not on the list but you want to attend then you need to let me know (although it's a bit late to be suddenly asking to join, there's still probably enough room for more people if anyone suddenly decides they want to come along or has been missed out the list).

Whilst I've tried to work with this simply by making more posts, and tagging them in the relevant tag, it's still not easy to get all of the information out to those who need to hear it. As such, I've tried something different at the suggestion of another, in the hopes it will make things easier.
