NCSCTE Team attends the largest trade show of it's kind
Chicago, March 2015
In the Windy City, near the banks of Lake Michigan, lies the largest convention center in North America. Â A fitting venue for the largest international material handling, logistics and supply chain show and conference: Promat 2015. Hosted by MHI, an estimated 36,000 visitors interacted with over 800 exhibitors showing the latest in material handling technology, reflecting the industry's growing demand for speed, efficiency, and accuracy. Members of the NCSCTE team came from all over the country to attend the show and meet with the National Visiting Committee while taking the time to network with industry professionals and further the awareness of supply chain technology education programs in the U.S. community college system. With a full schedule of meetings and presentations, the passion that fuels this team of innovators was practically contagious. Â They were ready to spread the word about the mission of the National Center, to discuss the growing skills gap and the need for a practical solution. Â They were armed with knowledge, direction and enthusiasm and were set amongst representatives from the many facets of the supply chain industry. They planted seeds of change in the minds and hearts of vendors and clients alike, and when seeds grow, the roots touch a landscape that once lay undiscovered. Â New and exciting things lay ahead in the world of Supply Chain Technology Education. The trip was an overall success with the future of the Center directed and planned based on team research reports, as well as crucial feedback from the National Visiting Committee members. Â With sights set firmly on ushering in wave after wave of successful skilled technicians to service the growing demand of the materials handling industry, the meeting was nothing less than informative, invigorating, and inspirational.
