Sterling axle is pretty much cleaned up and ready to start mocking up under the XJ. Just gotta weld on the mid and rear stiffeners, then I’ll put the leafs on and bolt up the axle get it all centered and pinion angle looking good. Then tack in the new leaf spring perches and pull it all apart to finish weld and paint. Spent a little time yesterday cleaning up the Sterling to get rid of the evidence of the old leaf spring perches. Anyone else have a little low spot under the perches when they remove theirs for the swap? I’m thinking I can just fill it with weld and grind it smooth.
