Matt Jones - Project Longarm
Sheffield based creator Matt Jones is just the kind of artist we like, mostly in that he doesn't live or work in London (just kidding, we love you lot really) but also because his intricate and stark geometric designs have been blowing our collective mind since we saw him doing his thing in Hendre Hall when we played music there on 11/11/11.
We featured some of his work a while ago on the full PYC site and now he's back with a smartly produced (and perfectly soundtracked) video documenting the time spent creating his most ambitious piece yet.

In Matt's own words;
"Towards the end of 2012, as part of The Festival of the Mind in Sheffield, myself and a small team of technicians, coders and mathematicians developed a drawing system and put it to work. The robots drew one line pattern solutions, the shortest line possible, derived from theories on how bees fly from flower to flower. It ended up covering three walls and the floor of a twenty foot cube in one unbroken line."
We recommend watching the video in full HD with headphones on. Image credited to Andy Brown.
