This blog will document my project on 3D projection mapping and architectural illusion design.

The main idea is to explore how buildings can be visually transformed using 3D animation, light, and perspective. Instead of using real projection equipment, I will simulate projection mapping digitally.

I am also taking inspiration from the architecture of Jaipur, especially heritage structures and patterns.

Over the next few weeks, I will be posting my research, experiments, and development process.

Depending on the model, the type of LED and the manufacturer’s life span of an LED bulb is 20,000 to 50,000 hours. However, the figures given by the manufacturers are often theoretical. In comparison with other lighting solutions, LED bulbs remain the best choice over time.

 Comparative lifetimes of different bulbs:

Conventional bulb filament or incandescent: 1000 to 2000 hours but the filament being sensitive to shocks or repeated ignitions, these durations were rarely reached.

Halogen bulb from 2000 to 3000 hours, the main disadvantage of the halogen bulb is its lack of efficiency, a lot of heat loss produced.

Fluorescent compact bulb 4000 to 15 000 hours, the major disadvantage of these bulbs is that they contain toxic compounds such as compact fluorescent powders, which are not recyclable. They must be handled with care so that they do not break and recycle in the bins provided for this purpose.

LED bulbs from 20,000 to 50,000 hours, long remained more expensive to buy, LED Light is now much more affordable and are quickly amortized thanks to energy savings.

 The progress of LED bulbs

In recent years, LED lighting technology has evolved significantly. These are not just simple little red or white diodes but they offer a multitude of possibilities.

 For the record, an LED bulb emits light by electroluminescence of a semiconductor which consumes a very small amount of electricity. In addition, this mode of operation helps to increase its life because it is resistant to vibration and shock and it is not impaired by repeated ignitions and extinctions, unlike filament bulbs.

 Today, LED bulbs are available in many designs and shapes, and in just about all caps to fit any fixture. Interesting progress is that of color rendering. No more cold, bluish LED lights that make hospital lights.

 Now you have the choice between a white color of the day, warm white light or warm white to manage your lighting moods. And if you want a little crazy and colorful lighting, you can opt for green, blue, yellow or red LED ribbons.

 The LED lighting is quickly profitable

 Because of their lifespan and reduced power consumption by 80% compared to incandescent bulbs, the return on investment from the purchase of LED Lights is quickly measurable.

 Not only on the electricity bill but also in maintenance cost for large structures: less frequent bulb changes, they do not "burn" brutally but decline slightly before ceasing to operate.
