The landmark Brazos in Granbury, one of North Texas' oldest standing drive-in theaters, is on the market for $575,000. Its remarkable run started in 1952 -- when Singin' in the Rain and High Noon were released. It includes a 35-by-70-foot screen, 5 its surrounding acres, and the original ticket booth, marquee and concession stand. Current owner, Jennifer Miller, says it's still viable and that "structurally the place is great." She shares why exactly she's selling and what she thinks the theater's possibilities are. Photos 1. Sandra and L.B. Hodges get set with a bag of popcorn in seats on the back of their pickup truck at the Brazos before the start of a show in July 2002. 2. The Brazos celebrated its 50th anniversary June 1 and 2, 2002. 3. Jeremy Fletcher, 15 years old in this March 2000 picture, got the film running in the projection room at the Brazos. "I like working here. It's kinda like working in the past but in the future. When I go off to college in the future, how many people are gonna be able to say, 'I worked at a drive-in'? It's a really neat experience here. I feel honored working at one, being able to say I worked at a drive-in when I was a kid." 4. Also from March 2000: Don and Susan Sanders, along with Susan's daughter Genevieve, center, watched Toy Story 2 from lawn chairs on the patio area near the snack bar at the Brazos. The Sanders told us they were drive-in enthusiasts and had written two books on the subject. 5. The Brazos at night in 2003
