Heir of Hope

            This is a Classpect near and dear to my own heart. Why, you may ask? Because it is, in fact, mine! As a result, I have spent a lot of time thinking about it, its implications, and the progression thereof. This makes it the perfect place for a leaping point for Project Omicron.

Heir is all about dancing, as I have said many times before and will probably say at least 11 more times. The Aspect changes the Heir, the Heir changes the Aspect, and together they grow and move. And, as the dance continues, people become inspired and will accept the ideas or lessons available from the Aspect and the Heir. If the Heir is a good person, this can be the best of their Aspect and self, while the reverse can just as easily become true.

Where does Hope factor in? Well, there is plenty of potential to be inspired by Hope, because Hope is inspiration, pure and simple. Hope is composed of all the positive emotions (where positive is defined as “expanding your thoughts” and not necessarily “happy” or “good”) and allows people to see past their preconceptions and consider ideas that they might not have before. And an Heir of Hope can control that, granting them, in essence, the ability to control ALL perceptions. Well, in theory. Of course, the Heir’s role is passive: they do not actively dominate or rule, but they shift and guide passively, changing things almost by accident, but as they grow, more on purpose, but with less control.

That’s not to say Heirs are exempt from responsibility. Everyone has points where they need to take charge and get shit done. But the important thing about them is that they cannot try to dominate reality: its quite simply not their place. There are some people who are capable of ruling and commanding, such as Lord, Thieves, Witches. And while I’m sure many Heirs, including Heirs of Hope have the capability, its not them acting at their best.

An Heir of Hope, at their best, can be quite powerful indeed. To their allies they can be the necessary burst of confidence in an impossible situation, the creative mastermind who thinks of options never even considered, but to their enemies they can be chaos itself, shredding what they knew to be true and leaving them unable of decision making. However, all of these options are possible to the Heir, granted their Aspect in full form like any Heir is, and they must learn to control the negative sides, the uncertainty and the doubt, whilst embracing the creativity, possibility, and power.

An example of an Heir of Hope is the man who I believe to be the greatest to ever live: Mr. Rogers. You see, when he first heard of television he was disgusted by it: not what it was, but the fact that so much of its potential was unexplored! So, he sought to capitalize on the opportunity and create one of the greatest TV shows in history, when that taught millions to believe in love and to understand that being different can be good. In fact, it was his example that caused me to open my heart and accept that not all theists are deluded or evil, and that it can be an inspiration for good, even if I don’t like it.

And that is the basics of an Heir of Hope: inspired by Hope, inspiring by Hope, and always moving change in any possible direction.
