I have been fascinated with space exploration since I was a wee lad. Particularly the Voyager project. More recently the Mars Rover Curiosity, and Philae. But I am extraordinarily excited by the New Horizons mission to Pluto. So much so I recorded my own soundtrack for the event. It’s definitely not like the stuff I do with Terminal Sunburn. It’s an ambient guitar record.
I’m not even kidding.
It was composed, recorded, and mixed live utilizing one guitar, one amp, and a few pedals by a Tascam handheld digital recorder. The only post-op work I did on it was to add fades, beef up the signal, and edit out all the extraneous bullshit that transpired while writing these pieces on the spot. It’s my own soundtrack for New Horizons space flight.
Since it’s nothing like the TS stuff, I put it online under another name (Project J42). I needed to call it something, and names are hard to come by. I’ll make a site dedicated to this stuff soon, because I plan on doing more of it. I enjoyed the creative process behind it.
Now back to waiting with baited breath for more information about Pluto...
