Found You Again ★ Red and Lucas
It was strange to be off of the mountain again, and for the first little while afterwards, Red hadn't been quite sure of just what to do with himself. Nearly half of his life had been spent in an ever-repeating cycle, repeating every day without ever stopping. With the simple mathematics done, he found that, including leap years, over three thousand days of his life had been spent in the icy kingdom of Mount Silver. Over three thousand times, that cycle had repeated, each time becoming more and more thoroughly etched into his brain.
And then suddenly, it was torn away from him. There was no perpetual snowstorm or bone chilling cold, there was no waking up at sunrise to train for the entirety of the day- there was no isolation. He was living in civilization again, this time with someone who wasn't his mother, and it was enough to make his head start reeling. As soon as he had gathered his senses, though, he began to wander again. Not as actively as his training days, no, and he certainly spent much more time in Viridian than in elsewhere (a flying pokemon was something useful to have, no doubt), but he still had that wanderlust from his journeying days (and now that there were no chains to hold him down, he roamed).
So he found himself in Celadon City, the place where he'd fought Erika and the place where he'd received Vee. It was nostalgic, definitely- but then again, wasn't every city in Kanto that he traveled to nostalgic? Instead of venturing to the Game Corner or to the gym, though, he found himself climbing through the Department Store. There was nothing he needed to buy, no, but the view from the top of it was nothing short of spectacular. He'd always loved heights, loved seeing things from up high, and it was just relaxing, seeing Kanto from this viewpoint. Once he'd gotten there, he'd leaned against the railing for a good while, just looking over the city and nature beyond it. It wasn't too long before he grew thirsty, though, and he went to get a bottle of water from the vending machine. Upon standing back up, he turned around, only to catch sight of a vaguely familiar red hat.
...Was that-...? Blinking, he took another look at the subject of his observation. It was the same color of hair, same hairstyle, same hat, same clothes- all the same as the boy he'd met on the mountain. Of course, in all actuality, there were many boys he'd met on the mountain, but only two really stood out to him- and, if he was correct about who this was, then this boy was one of them. Was this the same boy he'd given shelter to? The same one he'd guided through Mount Silver? Was this the one he'd let his thoughts out to? Deciding on a whim to actually check, he tapped the ravenet on the shoulder (briefly recognizing those cobalt eyes). Was it...
Was it really Lucas?
