“Bonjour Professor. Eh? Where is he?”

Syphoria glanced around the empty lab floor with a pause, trying to find the Professor himself. She had just arrived for her morning duties and, she had picked up some breakfast for him and herself. Pixie even looked about the floor with no signs of the man, only for the blonde to sigh.

Up the stairs she went, along with her vulpix, hoping to find him and make sure he was okay. She swore, if he got his head stuck somewhere, whether in human or Pokemon form again, she was going to have a fit. She did peek into his office though, just in case he was here. Maybe she should of asked Garchomp for help.

… “Maybe they mean naughty in the nice way?” Xerneas, no.

     He’s on his way home, toting some groceries in his arms as he makes his way along the sidewalk back to his laboratory. All in all, being disguised as a human isn’t that bad! Being a Pokémon professor is even better, because he can buy all the treats he can possibly eat! No one ever says a thing-- they all assume it’s for “his” Pokémon. 

It’s a little amusing that no one’s figured out why he was never a Pokémon trainer. 

       Despite the overcast weather, he feels unusually full of life-- well. More than usual. It’s... a lot different than what he’s accustomed to. He feels lively, vibrant-- full of vitality. Like he could run for hundreds of miles without ever tiring. It’s only when he turns the block does he see what looks like himself waiting outside of his laboratory’s gates. The other’s aura is a little overwhelming, making his head fuzzy and his vision blur a tad.

     “... is it unusual for me to cite an appreciate for Life itself, Professor?”

     “Life is a... miracle. It is so easy for life to fail, Death ever-watching, and yet it succeeds often enough to be populous. Life is a successful weed, blooming at the slightest opportunities so it can fester and spread before Death can catch it. Life overpopulates because it has outsmarted Death, adapting to every possibility with a moment’s ease and barely a moment’s care.”

“Why yes, I am! Professor Sycamore, Kalos’s very own pokemon professor. How can I help you?”

…There was something about this stranger’s aura. It was far too strong to belong to a human… But he chose to not say anything about it for now.

“Hm? Professor Royal… I do not believe we have met before. Of course, it is possible we have both been to the same events and just missed each other,” he answered with a mareepish smile. “What is her field of study? Perhaps I’ve read her work before.” He wasn’t always the best at answering questions that pertained to other professor’s specialties, but he’d certainly try, if that was what the fellow wanted.

  Remus gives a pleasant, albeit suspicious (of the other man) smile, adjusting his coat. “Sycamore, right? Is a requirement to become a professor being named after a tree? It seems like it,” he jokes, making light of the strangely tense conversation. Well, on his end, at least. 

  “Petra Royal. She studies the connection between affection, happiness, and evolution. Such as how Pokemon such as Crobat and Lucario are only seen when content enough with their trainer. My apologies for assuming all professors know each other!” 

He noticed the condition of the pen and how his friend acted like he was in some sort of pain. It wasn’t surprising for a hybrid to be in some sort of pain from time to time, he himself experienced such especially where the crest and spines had grown, and so Lysandre wasn’t too concerned though concerned nonetheless. The taller hybrid moved his hand that was on Sycamore’s shoulder to hold it out to help him up from where he was sitting.

When she woke up that morning, she hadn’t expected to be dealing with a very twitchy Gligar that had been sitting on her doorstep. It hadn’t seemed to be hurt, but it was mistrusting of her pokemon, which prompted her to put her team of three in their poke balls while she figured this out. 

It wasn’t as though her team was aggressive towards the Gligar when they noticed it. In fact, they were as friendly as could be, trying to calm it down. Only is had lashed out, snarling at them until she had come back in the room. Almost instantly it had latched onto her, moving to get as far away from her pokemon as it could. That led to where she was now. 

It wasn’t as though she was scared for her own well being. This Gligar was abnormally friendly towards her. It gave her the chance to check it’s stinger, confirming it was a male before letting it rest on her bed. She wanted to go and grab her holo caster, but she was still nervous about leaving him alone if he were to wake up. Taking the chance, she slunk out of the room, rushing for the holo caster on the table.

Perhaps she should have asked permission first, but it’s her subject, even if they’re hiding in another subject’s room. A dangerous subject, even, in another dangerous subject’s cell. She thinks she had done well to come with more guards should things turn sour. She knocks on the door softly a few times, to get attention within the cell. “Subject A? It’s me, your assigned trainer. Please walk away from the door. That goes for you too, Subject L.”

She really doesn’t like that wording, but it’s her job. And she doesn’t like that job very much, but if she can help those poor subjects, even a little.. After a few seconds, she nods at the soldiers, grabs the handle and unlocks the door. She’s shaking, so much so that she’s gripping her clipboard tight to control herself.
