HI EVERYONE! I have been blogging regularly for over eight years now at http://profeminist.tumblr.com. This is my 18,230th post! I do my best to cover news, ideas and resources for feminists / the LGBTQIA+ community / all oppressed peoples.

While I cover a lot of negativity in terms of gender and racial oppression and violence, I do my best to keep an upbeat tone so my readers are inspired, pissed off and ready to change the world!

Sisterhood or sorority: the relationship between sisters, as the feeling of kinship with and closeness to a group of women or all women; an association, society, or community of women linked by a common interest, religion, or trade.

Based on Diana E. H. Russell's Feminist Flag, but this flag is specifically for sisterhood, not necessarily tied to feminism and its branches/strands. The sisterhood is many times felt by people that are not necessarily women, such as between fem men, and fingender and fiaspec binaryn't individuals.

Just as sapphogender, someone could feel their identity interconnected with sisterhood without approaching integral womanhood. They could experience sisterhood through gender elements, alignments, energies, auras, geometries, substances, etc.

I dunno if you have access to this, but if you do, please consider signing it and sharing it with whoever you can. It's about the horrific and severely dated and incredibly unfair way that the Norwegian health service deals with transpeople. Only a few years ago, if you wanted to change your legal gender and change your name, you needed a diagnose from the national trans board, and to get that diagnose you had to willingly have yourself STERILISED by having your organs removed as part of a FORCED sex change. ONLY A FEW YEARS AGO. JUST TO BE ALLOWED TO CHANGE YOUR NAME.

Google Trans due to laziness:

Even if you have a DIAGNOSIS from a doctor and psychologist that you are a trans person, you still have to seek an audience from a handful at State Uni hospital, wait several years in line, and then be tested to check you are trans ENOUGH, and if you are one of the lucky 10% who get a yes, you have to wait a few more years before you can apply for treatment - just to be sure that's what you really want. If you are sexually active, you get no. If you have pierced ears as a trans man, you get no. If you are not fond of makeup as a trans woman, you get no. It can take up to 10 years from your initial diagnosis till you get hormones (if you are lucky). If you are not sufficiently trans (even if you have proof and diagnosis) it sucks to be you and you will not receive any treatment at all. Not even if you pay for it out of your own pocket.

Here are some quick tips for Tumblr bloggers:

I reblog a lot, because I like supporting other bloggers, and at the same time I try to add as much original content as possible. 

1. To find blogs you like, use the Tumblr search bar and search both general terms (”feminism”, “gender equality,” etc.) and specific (”gender wage gap,” “objectification of women,” “black women in STEM”), then follow people who are posting content you like! This will quickly build up a feed of good content that those folks are sharing, and you can reblog posts plus follow the new Tumblrs you’re coming across.

2. To get content for original posts, you can go into Google News and customize your feed by clicking on topics and featuring them. This is really useful because you can just check one page in the morning (or whenever you’re diving in to blog), and see what’s happening in feminism, the LGBTQIA+ world, etc.

3. You can have Google send stories to you in a daily email.  https://www.google.com/alerts

4. Social channels like FB and Twitter allow you to create lists. Add your favorite feminist and equality sites on those channels to a list, and then you have a quick way to see what’s going on and find content to share!

In terms of suggestions, I’m open to them but I can’t promise anything due to the sheer number of messages and requests I get. Generally speaking “I don’t do requests” unless it’s something I really want to spread the word about. And I don’t share money-related requests because it wouldn’t be fair to share some and not others.
