This guys video is very insightful in retrospect to leather goods and products. Before I got into leatherwork myself I'd see in the stores constantly belts and wallets that were marked as "genuine leather" but they didnt last and tore up easily. So for those interested in purchasing leather products please do some research into them before spending that hard earned money. On Etsy I tend to look at the market on leather goods and prices and there is noticable difference. For example if you look up briefcases you get swarmed with a bunch of them for $80 to $100 and all those are stated to be made with genuine leather. But if you dig deeper you see some for $300 or higher and those talk about the type of grain and leather used which shows those are full on leather products. Not the cheap filler laced with leather.
