Mystery cave analysis
@lissanfuryeye said: What do you think about the mystery of the sword and the text in the cave in "Follow the leader"? I hope they can investigate that in the upcoming seasons, I mean, it can't just be the writers coming up with it just to fill the episode. :)
Hey! Thank you fro your ask!
Actually, when I see this episode for the first time, I didn't expected this plot at all! I thought that we would have had more informations about the writings from the cave and the sword. I thought that the episode will focus on that but it didn’t.
I thought that we could have answers by translating the cave and sword’s runes but the wikia page said that:
“The runes on the sword and the cave walls translate roughly to an excerpt from the old Norse poem "The Song of the Valkyries" by Darra Tharlioth..."with swords brandished, shields will be shattered, shafts will be splintered, will the hound-of-helmets, the hauberks bite."”
So that’s clear that the writers didn’t give so much importance to this and I found this too bad. I mean, why did they take time to do this if it was not for focusing on it?
And for your answer, I don’t think that the future episodes will return to this story because we know that the Edge will be destroyed so the dragon riders will have to go and I doubt that they will come back to it.
Unfortunately, we will not have answers to this mystery and I think that’s why it’s called like that aha. I think that’s a good question especially because we had the same thing in “Out of the Frying Pan” but on the contrary of “Follow the leader”, we had an answer.
I doubt that we will hear about it again but we’ll see!
