20th - 26th January

Back from travelling and trying my best to get productive again. Borrowed The List from my bestie. Pretty good book.

Still working on my 2024 embroidery, ignore the fact we’re already into our second month of the new year, I’m a mess.

Second run of the year was done this week using my new trainers! A speed run that reminded me how much I love running during winter. The cold is my favourite thing. A lovely remind to me that I’m alive.

And lastly some baking was done this week. The brownies were really good. Hasn’t made any in forever, so it was a must. One of my goals for this year is to do more baking and cooking, so we’re definitely on the right track.

I didn’t do any writing but I did set up a plan to help me get back on the right track with it.

It’s time for an update!

We’re on day 15 of The WIP Project 2022 now, which means that one sixth is behind us. I know I couldn’t keep up with updating every day or so, so I decided this is a good rhythm.

My goal is to write 30,000 words in 90 day, or 333 words per day.

Current word count: 7223

So far it’s going quite well. I’ve written every single day of those 15 days, and my word count was below 333 on only one of those days. To make up for that (which was absolutely unintentional btw), I accidentally wrote over 1k words on another day.

I came across the WIP Project rather late, so I wasn’t really well prepared when I started writing. At first I tried to just write the scenes I had in mind, but I quickly realised that didn’t work. So I’m now doing a “zero draft” which I’ve never done before, and summarising the scenes without worrying about my writing style is actually a lot of fun. I’m still figuring out what goes where in my plot, but I should be able to start writing the real first draft soon.

There’s still no WIP intro that I could link to now, but I’m working on that as well. Hey, at least I’ve got a nice little banner for the project!
