“  i  have  been  discovered  ,  ”  feigning  disappointment  at  the  sight  of  the  other  ,  knees  drawn  close  to  his  chest  .  after  making  his  brief  rounds  ,  benedict  opted  to  catch  his  breath  under  the  shades  of  the  trees  scattered  around  the  garden  —  both  to  hide  and  observe  the  bustling  event  .  “  have  you  come  to  seek  refuge  as  well  or  have  you  come  to  ruin  my  excellent  hiding  place  with  a  lecture  ?  ”

 “  oh  goodness  !  ”  seoyeon  clutched  her  chest  ,  nearly  jumping  ,  the  hood  on  her  cloak  slipping  back  as  she  startled  .  it  was  not  wise  of  the  miss  to  be  out  this  late  —  not  that  anyone  knew  she  was  out  .  she  glanced  quickly  around,  as  though  half-expecting  some  unseen  chaperone  to  materialize  from  the  shadows  and  call  her  back  to  sense  .  “  you  —  ”  she  began,  then  stopped  herself  ,  pressing  her  lips  together  as  if  to  regain  composure  .  “  you  nearly  gave  me  a  fright  ,  sir  .  ”  quickly  adjusting  her  cloack  with  hurried  hands  ,  as  if  that  alone  could  undo  the  impropriety  of  it  all  .  “  ..  i  did  not  notice  you  at  all  .  have  you  been  standing  there  long  ?  ”  seoyeon  looked  down  at  the  cobblestone  sidewalk  .  “  i  …  i  should  not  be  here  ,  ”  she  muttered  under  her  breath  ,  more  to  herself  than  anyone  else  and  yet  her  feet  did  not  move.
