Experimenting with texture and creating my own lino stamp.  I cut my logo into a small piece of lino and then used watercolour paints to coat the stamp. The reason I used watercolour as the stamp ink is I wanted a texture heavy image that I could later edit in Photoshop. Other inks were giving a too solid layer of colour to the paper. I liked how the water colours blotched and ran into the lettering slightly creating uneven lines and surface texture.

Logo for the band ‘Dark Static’.  -I was commissioned to create a logo for the band Dark Static. The brief asked that I incorporate a wind turbine into the logo to play on the ‘static’ part of the band name. I also added a light distortion texture to the logo to emphasise this which also added a printmaking element to the image.

A few images from one of the lino-printing workshops. I hadn't had much previous experience creating lino-printed work so the illustration I cut were fairly basic but I did like the end result. I would like to use this method in future to possibly create textures for my digital illustrations.

As a part of my personal development I created my own webpage to use as my online portfolio via the hosting site cargocollective.com. I’ve kept the design very minimalistic by using black and white thumbnails for the work and also keeping in theme I used a black and white version of my logo as the homepage redirect link. HTML and web based design is not one of my strong points and as my main focus of design is illustration based I felt that using a third party website to host my online portfolio was the best and most efficient starting place to generate an online presence. This also allowed me to add a web address to my business cards.
