tate I live for your tags on the post abt bellamy looking at the gun can we talk about that?? that its Clarke standing in front of him. clarkes shell is cracking, her wall is tumbling down right in front of him and he knows. he knows its her and not the commander of death, and its hecking me up
Dude you have no idea how extra I am right now. I’ve always been 10000% on the team where Bellamy sees big wrong actions like this, like turning to the grounders or stealing the bunker, as not an action by Clarke but Clarke turning away from her true self and acting like Wanheda again. And that is sososo apparent this whole season and this episode especially. The way he said “Clarke, you agreed to this?” when he first out……man, the way he said her name is nothing like how he says her name usually. It was like he couldn’t get the word out, because this wasn’t her.
The same is absolutely true of this gun scene. Bellamy knows Clarke would never hold a gun to him, he knows it, and seeing that gun shake, seeing her hands trembling and her desperate broken face, he knows he’s not facing Wanheda anymore–or, maybe, that Wanheda still there, but Clarke (the true Clarke, the Clarke who sacrificed herself for her friends, the Clarke who told him he wasn’t the monster, the Clarke he fell in love with) is fighting, and about to win. And he knows his Clarke would never ever shoot him.
That’s why his speech here is so much quieter, so much calmer than with Jaha. He knew Jaha would go to great lengths to stop him, even kill him maybe, so he fought back in kind. But once he knew it was Clarke in front of him, desperate and terrified and lost, he didn’t need to yell. He just whispered to her, the exact words he knew Clarke would hear, the words to get her out. “You’re gonna have to make a kill shot. That’s the only way you’ll stop me.” He knew, he knew Clarke would hear him, would recognize what he was trying to do.
And she listened.
