im back from the dead, hey how's it going
today i would like to talk about two things that i find very problematic!!
the influx of (white) influencers that post videos like "i know im gonna lose followers for this but..." and then proceeds to add the whitest, most accepted thing out there. example: being christian. now y'all may be like "ridley you're doing exactly what they said you would do, how predictable!" nah. if they'd just put something like "im a christian!" and like made a cute little video about their faith journey then like yeah id be fine, but nooo these influencers gotta be about victimizing themselves and shit. it's not that they're christian, it's not that they're talking about it, it's that they genuinely believe that people will hate them. and they could not be more wrong, because the amount of "god loves you!!" and bible verses in the comments kind of proves the opposite. not to mention the shit ton of likes they get on that video. see the problem?
the ad i saw for a white Jesus plushie!! as a poc who has been raised by my family and my church (im episcopalian) to be open minded this like rly upset me for some reason. like my whole life ive been told that Jesus was not white. and he was like pale as fuck too on this plushie and i was just like FUCDIOSCNFSKKDKD
um yea that's all 🥲👍
