I don't understand how quantum computing can accurately measure the state of an electron. Isn't the realm of quanta ruled by a probabilistic model of electron positioning . . ? Quantum mechanics is too commonly misrepresented and therefore misunderstood. I'm currently taking a cell biology class and we were going over how fluorescence works. The diagrams used to illustrate this had arrows implying a transitory state of change as electrons jumped from low energy states to high energy states and back down releasing light at different wave lengths. If you don't consider the quantum effect here -that electrons exist in different positions without ever going through a middle state then, while you may gain a somewhat good understanding of how fluoresence works, you have made it even more difficult for yourself to understand how the quantum world works. And this is a very curious world that I think many of us really want to know more about.
