Nesta, Emerie and Gwyn passing the Blood Rites as Valkyries was a huge moment for them and they should feel proud. Even if Nesta stayed behind to fight off the more bloodthirsty opponents. Even if Emerie carried an unconscious Gwyn on her back. That doesn’t make the moment any less important. I don’t think the Illyrian titles will ever be used for them because they passed as Valkyries. Emerie may be an Illyrian, but she is Valkyrie. Gwyn may be a priestess, but she is a Valkyrie. Nesta may be a human Made fae, but she is a Valkyrie.
They represent this perfectly. They don’t have to be your favourite character to respect their role in the story. Just like Feyre, Elain, Mor, Amren and Vassa. They represent change for the females of Prythian. That is not something that should be ignored or reduced. You also shouldn’t tear down the other characters just to make yours look good. Because if you have to do that is your character really all that great?
