no shade at @bogleech but i just found out! and wanted to share! bc i think its cool! that the medieval mace-shaped fella vvv
is actually just a wee baby grabbed from this original image,
which reveals that they are a juvenile Gargariscus prionocephalus, aka jaggedhead gurnard, aka the same species as in the original post. those little spikes will form into the... handsome face lobes... ? with time!
also since the original picture showed a dead & pressure damaged specimen, lets appreciate one that is alive and well:
