Hello and thank you for doing god’s work on here! I’m looking desperately for a sterek fic I read years ago and somehow managed to forget the name of. It’s a long-distance engagement, letter writing au set in ye olden times. I am honestly not sure if it had wolves or not but I don’t think the werewolf thing was major. It’s told almost entirely through letters except for a little bit at the very end.
Stiles and Derek are both princes engaged to each other in a political arrangement and stiles begins by writing to Derek in a friendly way, Derek responds stiffly a couple times and offends stiles who gets short with him, Derek apologizes and they slowly warm up to each other. I think either stiles gets sick or Derek gets injured because I’m pretty sure one of them writes to the other and gets no response and gets very worried. War breaks out before they can marry and then the political marriage is no longer necessary so stiles writes Derek asking if he wants to be free of him but Derek will not break off the engagement. Then Derek doesn’t reply for a few letters. Then I remember they meet in a hall of stiles’ castle when Derek comes to see him as a surprise. Happy ending and all that. Epilogue is a note derek sends from bed after they are married to stiles who is working in the study, telling him to come to bed. I swear I bookmarked it but I can’t find it for the life of me. My brain is telling me the title is something like a letter sign off, like “most sincerely”, or “with affection,” or something. Any help appreciated!! 💕
