I have a question about the pets! What do they do when they see their reflection in the mirror?
You know those cats that instantly puff up? That’s Wigglebutt. Little cat just turns into the biggest puff at the sight of this strange other cat. She doesn’t understand that it’s her own reflection.
Princy on the other hand. He looks into a mirror and almost breaks. He just stares into his own reflection for the longest time. Almost in this sort of trance state. If you watch his reflection for a while you’ll see his eyes slowly starting to go crosseyed. Somewhere in the mirror he’s seen the truth.
Destroyer fears no dog! Not even her own reflection! She’ll bark super loud until the neighbors complain. Gladio can never have long mirrors anymore because of her.
Most would expect Freckles to be the one to get playfull with his own reflection. However he doesn’t. All he does is lick the mirror. Yup. Instead of getting all excited he just tries to lick himself via the glass mirror. He’s a smart dog I swear.
There’s no fucks given with LeChat. That cat just, walks by mirrors without caring. If he ever takes notice of his own reflection it’s very vain. He’ll use the time to groom himself and look like a presentable gentleman. Julion is pretty much the same way only he’ll also stick his nose against the glass. Ignis will never know about the nose prints unless someone tells him.
Prince Pawsome! How does he get along with the other pets? Does he have one of those dog harnesses that has a handle on the back so you can pick them up?
Princy gets along well with the other pets! Granted he’s a bit of an older pup when he does meet them. He’d meet Wigglebutt first when Noctis brings her home from off the streets. At first the small kitten would be afraid of the pug but would eventually warm up to him. He makes a great cat bed.
He’d probably meet LeChat next. The old cat wouldn’t really care about the pug so long as he was left alone. There may have been a few accidents with the old cat. Princy can just be so excited that he can’t help himself and give the grumpy old man a few kisses.
When it comes to meeting Destroyer, they’d be fast friends. Both of them would be high energy dogs so they can often be found together running around and playing. It’s the Curly Tail Club! Both dogs never could catch their own tails. However Noctis and Gladio one time found the two holding onto each other’s tails. There was pictures all over the Internet in the next hour.
Freckles is sort of the same way. Freckles would welcome the newest playmate with wagging tail. Then he learns that Princy is Wigglebutt’s ‘older brother’, then the excitements almost breaks the pup. Have you ever seen a dalmatian do laps around a camp site? It’s quite a show.
By the time he gets around to meeting Julion he’s practically an old man dog. Even then it’s only brief. When Noctis is taken into the crystal he’s handed off to Prompto to watch. But they would have gotten along well. Princy more than likely would have tried to snuggle up to Julion at night time.
For the period of time that Cor has him. Prince Pawsome will be on a leash and a harness. More often than not that pug finds trouble. Plus Cor likes having the option of just lifting the dog by the back of the harness where the little handle is and just run. Run with a hamster in his pocket and a dog in hand.
BONUS: First time Princy met Ardyn, he peed on his leg. It was deliberate. That pug knew what he was doing. He didn’t like Ardyn so he took the liberty of showing how much he didn’t like him. By peeing on his leg. Older Noctis looks back on that moment after Princy is long gone and still laughs about it.
I was talking to a few friends the other night and we had ended up talking about... What if before Wigglebutt, Noctis had another pet. A pug. Currently an unnamed pug. One that he probably got as a child and had up until he left for Altissia. Which then said pug was handed over to be watched by Cor. From then wherever there’s a Cor, there’s a snorting pug following him until he can be reunited with Noctis.
If I wanted to get further into this I’d probably say that Noctis got the pug as a puppy from Regis. Whom had his own pug as a long time friend by the name of Love Pug. Regis named this pug himself guys Royal family of pugs guys. But Noctis’ pug would be from the last litter from Love Pug. Noct probably saw the newborn puppy and pointed it out and said “I want him.” and it was so.
Anyway since I did say that this pug is currently Nameless. I want you guys to send me in some ideas for names! Just send in your suggestion to my ask box, if you wanna do on anon that’s fine! The sillier the name the better after I have names for pets like Princess Wigglebutt, Freckles, and Destroyer of Worlds.
So send them in guys! Name the pug! Bonus points if you put the word Prince with the name to continue on with the whole royal pets thing.

I can't help but imagine the pets from your AU in little Kingsglaive uniforms!
Oh my god you can bet that Destroyer at least has a little uniform made for her! She looks so cute patrolling down the corridors with puffs of fur sticking out. Big bushy tail curled up around the back and everything. Cutest little guard dog.
Freckles has one too for when he’s with Prompto for work duties. He’s got his serious Dalmatian face on when he’s in uniform. The minute he’s alone though he goes back to being a smiling pupper. He’s usually more of a run around naked and get dirty kinda dog.
Both Wigglebutt and LeChat don’t care for clothes too much. Wigglebutt has her little tiara she wears and an occasional dress or two for formal events. But other than that she likes showing off her glossy fur freely. LeChat is just an old fart that doesn’t wanna be bothered.
Julion has a special made uniform. His uniform has a service dog patch stitched on both shoulders. This is so that he won’t have to wear his vest over the jacket. He doesn’t mind getting dressed up every day. He even enjoys it most days.
Does the Princess have any one cat that has her heart in Insomnia, or does she have her own royal harem?
During the game she doesn’t. However after the rebuilding there’s talk of a domesticated Coeurl mix wandering around the Citadel. Few months later there’s a bunch of kittens running around. The fiercest hunters ever.
I have the flu really bad :( can I see headcanons for the pets dealing with a sick owner?

Wigglebutt is the type of cat that when Noctis is sick. She loafs. She becomes the warmest loaf and just lays on his chest. She’ll purr and knead at his chest until he starts feeling better. Even if he pushes her off she’ll hop right back on.
Both Destroyer and Freckles would almost act the same way. Though Freckles would be a bit pouty when Prompto gets sick. They’d both lay next to their owners and offer their emotional support. Destroyer would lay there and listen to Gladio complain. Freckles would lay on his back and kick his legs, trying to get Prompto to smile. Both dogs would cuddle up to their owners while they slept, hoping to share their warmth.
LeChat is a tired old cat and can’t really do much. He’d lay next to Ignis’ head on his pillow. Batting at his face to wake him up when it was time for his medicine. Julion though, he is best dog. He’ll bring Ignis his medicine bottles, bottles of water, lead him around with gentle nudges. Yes while it may have been his own home, with Ignis being sick his senses are probably a bit messed up. Good doggo is good.
