It had all started with a horrendous row with his father, which had left him sporting a deep purple bruise along his jawline. He could no longer recall what began the argument, but knew it must have had something to do with his extracurricular habits. Loganâs relationship with James had been souring for years, from the moment puberty had kicked in and Logan had become less interested in childish past times and far more interested in the adult. His determination to chase down activities he was far too young to indulge in had slowly but surely driven a rift between father and son that was at this point, too wide to repair. So, unwilling to take the risk of moving out and becoming self sufficient, Logan had taken to avoiding his father by camping out by the pool during the day.
It had its downfalls. By isolating himself he ran the risk of the loneliness becoming overwhelming. Juliet was often out on dates with whoever the latest guy was⌠his father didnât want to see him and his mother⌠well. She just wanted the whole embarrassing debacle over with.
That afternoon, it had all got a bit too much. Logan was curled up on one of the sunbeds nursing a bottle of whiskey heâd stolen from his fathers study the night before. If James suspected, he hadnât bothered to try and retrieve it and somehow⌠it stung. Logan craved attention, needed it. Even another hit to the jaw would be acceptable⌠ heâd take punches over nothing, at this point. Hell, heâd even take another beating with his fathers belt if it meant being touched but despite how much he needed it⌠pride refused to allow him to seek it overtly.
So there he lay, on his side, shivering as heâd done the last time heâd tried to go cold turkey from the latest ~thing, only this time he was depressingly sober. As far as drugs went, at least.
It was a wonder Abby hadn't gotten pulled over. One call from Juliet and she found herself driving like a mad woman to the Delos house. Everyone could see how Abby felt about Logan. She would do anything for him, and they made a habit of calling her to deal with him. Still, she only minded a little.
She didn't even knock. Just walked in, nearly running into Juliet. She was on her way out but took a moment to point Abby in the right direction. Abby made her way out to him. The first thing she noticed was the bruise, and she winced. If there was one person in the world that Abby truly hated, it was James Delos. There were many times Logan and Juliet had to physically hold Abby back. After all, the man had no qualms about laying a hand on her too.
"You can come stay with me for a few days," she told him, holding her hand out for him to take. She hoped he would take her up on the offer. Her place could be a safe space while James cooled down. All it would take for him to hurt Logan again was one misstep. The man held grudges had a short fuse.
