Jacques stopped at his sister’s door and let out a sigh. He was unsurprised that even her bed was pristine and made up perfectly. Still, perhaps the slight twinge of annoyance that rose up in him as he noticed was a little unfair. They both had their roles to play. And if she was going to do a good job keeping up her image and doing what she was supposed to, as far as Jacques was concerned, there was less reason for that pressure to be on him. My mistake.” To emphasize his point, he held up the notebook in question. Something that must’ve gotten mixed up when they were packing or in the confusion of move-in day, as soon as he’d seen it among his things he’d immediately noticed it didn’t belong. The style of it was decidedly not his.

❛ don’t be like that, jaq, ❜ she murmurs, reaching to take the notebook from him. though it wasn’t quite something she recognized, it was most likely a spare her mother had packed assuming angelique didn’t have enough. how’d it end up in his things? never mind, she couldn’t worry about that today. ❛ thank you for bringing it by. would you mind putting it on my desk in the second drawer? i need to rearrange my school supplies anyway before class. and you should go through yours as well. ❜
