Lumin carefully sets his mother down on the cool stone.

Avi, eyes fixed on the full moon glowing overhead, turns to his friend. “What do you need me to do?”

“Just make sure we’re not disturbed,” Lumin says softly. “Once I cast the spell, you must take her to the healers immediately. Do you understand?” Avi nods, and Lumin begins the incantation.

The same chaotic energy that Avi had seen strike down the Queen eight years ago now bursts forth from her body once more, only this time, it intermittently surges into the prince.

"That was no moon magic, Lumin! What have you done!?" Avi cries.

Lumin stumbles, reaching out a trembling hand toward the Queen. “Q-quickly,” he gasps, urging Avi to do as he was told, despite his hesitation.

As the first light of sunrise breaks over the horizon, Lumin lifts his gaze. A faint smile crosses his lips... before he collapses...

the Beginning - Before - Journey forth

𝕺𝖕𝖊𝖓 𝖞𝖔𝖚𝖗 𝖍𝖊𝖆𝖗𝖙, 𝕴 𝖆𝖒 𝖈𝖆𝖑𝖑𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖞𝖔𝖚~

Lumin and Lorcan navigate the bustling streets of the village and soon arrive at the entrance of the merchants guild.

"This clown?..." Lumin comments, scowling at the guilds sign. "Oh? Are you familiar with Mr. Sun?" Lorcan asks. "I’ve heard of him; his reputation is questionable… but I don't have any other choices, " Lumin replies, heading towards the guild's entrance.

"Let's not beat around the bush, I know who you are, Lumin Lavindine. The crowned prince of Spellbyndell, Hero! of all Regalia...otherwise, I wouldn't have let you in." Announces the man behind the table. "But, surely you are not acquainted with the common peddler such as myself. Allow me to introduce-"

"You are Jin Sun, master of the merchants guild and secret kingpin of the black market. Common peddler you most certainly are not. I know who I dare to make a deal with," Lumin reveals, interrupting Jin's exordium.

"Ah... it seems my reputation precedes me. I may be a gambling fae, but I assure you, I am honorable! Just like you, I have good, hardworking people who depend on me..." Jin responds earnestly. Lumin's demeanor remains unfazed as he raises his head to speak.

"I'm not here to dismantle your operations, Jin; I'm here to utilize them."

Jin's eyes glimmer, "Yes! Yes...why else would you grace us with your presence? You see, I had investments on the war, but you ended it quicker than I expected, and as a result, I—we suffered a significant financial loss..."

"Locate what I seek, and you can forget your debts." proclaims Lumin...

I am Taffeta Tolly, writer for Weekly 'Royalty Rise.' Today, we are at Shroom Gardens, where we find Prince Lumin Lavendine having his portrait painted. I'm excited to provide you all with an exclusive featuring the Heir to Spellbyndell and ask him your burning questions. Let's go!

Were you named after anyone?

I was named after light, no person. It carries symbolic weight related to clarity, enlightenment, and a sense of guidance. 

When was the last time you cried?

... *waves hand for the next question*

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Perhaps not "a lot" but I do use it among those I am more familiar with.

What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Their posture.

What’s your eye color?

They are a blue-silver with a brown halo.

Scary movies stories or happy endings?

*Chuckle* I am told I have terrible tastes in entertainment, but, If something must come to an end, I'd preferer it to be happy… at least for those who deserve it.

Any special talents?

I- ... I am efficient in most things that I've pursued, but it's not due to talent; it's a result of unwavering commitment.

Where were you born?

The castle.

Do you have any pets?

I've acquired many creature companions, but I cannot call them my "pets". Unless we're talking about the grumpy old cat that wonders the castle who claims everyone's lap as his bed. I would call him a pet, since he is uninterested in anything else... (Mr. Gubbins the old castle cat, Tara the thunder unicorn, Caelus the phoenix, Bannock the cowplant. And probably more)

How tall are you?

I'm about 6ft.

What was your favorite subject in school?

Everything, I excelled in my schooling.

What’s your dream job?

*looks at the reporter with a raised brow* Dream?...Madam, I will be King. There is nothing else I could ever want or desire...

[Bonus] We your fans and subjects, have known you as a "romantically reserved" young man in your past. Are you nervous about being Regalia's number one hottest Batchelor on the market today?

...No. (a little)

[Bonus] Do you have any thoughts or concerns about the Queens trials or the princesses who are seeking your hand in marriage?

No... I am concerned about the whole affair, yes, but I simply cannot allow myself to get invested at this time.
