The 11-carriage train was wrapped in Pride colours and staffed by an entirely #LGBT+ crew, making its first journey on Tuesday from London to Manchester. The train will be a permanent part of the operator's fleet and aims to reflect its commitment to diversity and inclusion. But the #rainbow-coloured train has split opinion. While many praised the move, some questioned whether it was an example of #virtuesignalling. Just know if you're in school and getting bullied, life gets better after school. If you think suicide is the only option, it's not. If you think your all alone in this world, and nobody honestly cares about you, most of the time that's incorrect. Just know whoever you are, you have a support system that you may not even be aware of, and has been there all along. This Pride think of all of those who have taken their lives tragically(I could have been one of them, just being real not trying to make anyone upset or triggered, it's not as uncommon as anyone would like to admit, but this one hits really close to home for me personally), just be aware the people around you might be feeling the exact same way (which can sometimes be shocking, some hide it better than others). And we just need to remind them that: you are loved, you are beautiful, and there's nothing wrong with you. I'm thinking about Supreme Court today and Title VII being threatened as this current administration wanted to roll back time to an Era where they can legally fire LGBTQ employees on the basis gender and sexual discrimination. This happens already & isn't new but it's coded. If we lose -- the current sparce resources and employment accessed by Queer, Non-binary, & Trans People will be absolutely threatened. This isn't news but it is a frightening formality that when anything is concretized in law. It could do damage for our communities for decades to come. Have you heard any number of these, especially as a Nonbinary &/or Transgender Disabled person? -- "We don't think you're the right fit,""This job doesn't seem compatible with your....""You seem to have a lot of community experience but...""You are overqualified for this position and unfortunately..." All of this a facade for Queer, Trans, Non-Binary fear by Cis usual Straight upper management. How many of us have grimaced in front of mediocrity fully knowing we can innovate a more thoughtful workplace and are told we are too much therefore a threat? These stories come from the for-profit, non-profit, freelance, Arts, and Literary worlds. These same scripts are utilized to limit Black people, #Disabled and Sick people, Non- Black #POC, Indigenous community, &/or Women, who seek consistent employment and advocate to be rightfully paid for their expertise. . . What seems to worry me is that there's this loose understanding by mostly White Cis & Cis LG people that all of this is even up for debate. Discrimination will happen with or without the state's support & if our protections today aren't uplifted the time is as grave & violent as ever. Trans & Non-Binary people don't "deserve," we don't have to earn anybody's trust or respect. My ancestors have taught me that you can work hard & work yourself to the bone and you can still be eviscerated.
